• Apostles 
1. sovereignly chosen by God for their ministry 
2. had to be eyewitnesses of our LORD’s life, death and resurrection 
3. received the Gospel by direct revelation from Jesus - not from other men 
4. the apostles are the foundation of the church

• Prov. 27:2 – “Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.”
